COMPANY KARMA

In THORNICO, we do not work and engage ourselves in being social and environmentally conscious because we have to comply with the law and regulations; we do it because Company Karma is in our THORNICO family’s DNA. Company Karma is a direction towards achieving a corporate culture and business strategy where environmental and social parameters are as essential as the financial ones. The Company Karma strategy is based on three different pillars – SUSTAINABLE GROWTH, BRANDING & COMMUNICATION and CORPORATE CULTURE.

SUSTAINABLE GROWTH

SUSTAINABLE GROWTH

Main Purpose:

Creating sustainable growth through value-based and CSR focused strategies. Not only having top- and bottom-line growth as development milestones.

How:

Code of Conduct and Company Karma strategy. Individual as cross company KPIs and action points as a part of the company strategy. Company Karma reports. Matching CSR KPIs and action points with UN SDGs and thus creating a bigger picture narrative.

BRANDING & COMMUNICATION

BRANDING & COMMUNICATION

Main Purpose:

Combining making a positive impact with differentiation and a unique market positioning.

How:

Global and local Company Karma projects. Unique projects relevant and related to the company's core competencies or strategic focus aiming at creating value for the companies most important stakeholders: the company itself, employees, partners and customers as for the cause of the project.

CORPORATE CULTURE

CORPORATE CULTURE

Main Purpose:

Creating a feeling and sense of meaning, value and identity in the companies as for the individual employee.

How:

Communication, participation and creating synergy through a variety of channels and karma events, e.g. MyKarma, ERFA, THORNICO Awards, THORNICO Event, Karma Walls, newsletters, intranet etc. Focus on HR and internal communication.

COMPANY KARMA REPORT

The orange colour in our THORNICO logo symbolises our Company Karma values and business philosophy. The origin of this saffron colour came from the monks’ robes that I came across whilst travelling and meditating in the Southeast, especially in Thailand. The cloth which is worn by the monks was originally used to wrap corpses for the monks to remind themselves of their mortality.

For us in the THORNICO Group, the orange colour in our logo is not so much to remind ourselves of mortality, although important enough, but it is a way for us to illustrate that although doing business, including growing our top and bottom line, most importantly we still want our Company Karma philosophy to be an essential part of what we do. The THORNICO logo, therefore, manifests how Company Karma branches out into our conglomerate.
