The pride of the nation
Since hummel started their sponsorship of the National Football Team, the Leone Stars, the team has been climbing the FIFA rankings with an impressive speed. Within two years the team has gone from 167th, climbing to number 62 on the FIFA rankings.
The team is now hummel's best positioned National Football Team and we are very proud of the teams efforts, which reflects that the future of football in Sierra Leone is looking brighter than it has done in many years and that the country in general is moving towards better times.

The National Stadium in Freetown has room for 45.000 people and is always full when the Leone Stars play.
All the national players are playing in the European leagues. Four years ago 60 % played in the Sierra Leonean national league.
One of the new rising stars on the national team is midfielder Rodney Strasser who plays in Milan in Italy.
